Taxidermy can be understood as a system of preserving and reproducing meaning, one that explains the world, sets the boundaries of normality, and determines what actions are permissible. It transforms a shifting reality into a supposedly permanent, trophy-like form, simplifying contradictions, selecting desirable features, and fixing them as self-evident. In this way, it makes it easier to distinguish between “one’s own” and “others”, as well as to justify decisions and maintain a sense of order.
